Preventive Health Assessment For Healthy Ageing
This Medicare-funded health assessment is designed for adults aged 50–74 who want a comprehensive review of their overall health and wellbeing. It's ideal for anyone who hasn't had a full health check in the past 12 months, has risk factors for chronic disease, or simply wants to establish a preventive health baseline. Your GP will assess your current health, identify potential risks, and create a personalised plan to help you stay healthy for years to come.

This is more than a standard GP visit. The Being Alive assessment takes a thorough, structured approach to your health — reviewing your medical history, checking key physical measurements, ordering appropriate blood tests, reviewing your cancer screening status, assessing your cardiovascular risk, and completing a mental health and lifestyle review. At the end, your GP provides a written health action plan and arranges any referrals or follow-up care identified. It is recommended annually and is covered by Medicare for eligible patients. Come fasted if possible — this allows blood glucose and cholesterol to be included.
