Integrated Mental Health Care Services
Our mental health service provides compassionate, confidential care for people of all ages experiencing emotional, psychological, or behavioural challenges. Whether you're living with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, ADHD, burnout, or sleep difficulties, our GPs offer assessment, Mental Health Care Plans, medication reviews, and referrals to psychologists and other specialists. We work with you to develop a personalised treatment plan that supports your mental wellbeing and long-term recovery.

Mental health is a core part of what we do at Merrimac Medical Centre — not an afterthought. Our GPs conduct thorough mental health assessments, create Mental Health Care Plans that unlock Medicare rebates for psychology, manage medications, and coordinate care with our in-house psychologist and external specialists. We see patients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, burnout, sleep difficulties, postnatal mental health concerns, and complex presentations requiring ongoing support. If you're in a difficult place, our GPs will listen, assess, and work with you — at your pace.

Integrated Mental Health Support — From Your GP
Your mental health is as important as your physical health. Our GPs provide compassionate, non-judgemental assessments and connect you with the right support — including Medicare-rebated psychology.
Ongoing Support
Your GP reviews your Mental Health Care Plan every 6 sessions, manages any medication, and coordinates your care across the full team — keeping your treatment connected and on track.
Care Plan & Referral
If appropriate, your GP creates a Mental Health Care Plan, which entitles you to up to 10 Medicare-rebated psychology sessions. We can refer to our in-house psychologist or an external provider of your choice.
Mental Health Assessment
Your GP takes a detailed history of your symptoms, history, and current functioning — using validated screening tools — to understand what you're experiencing and what support will help most.
